New version of site and forum

Hi all,

Following recent issues with the support site and forum, I have moved to a new server, more able (I hope :) ) to cope with the increased traffic and forum size. I had planned this for little while, but the repeated downtime of the recent days forced me to rush the move a bit. Nonetheless, I took the opportunity of the move to update things a little :

we have now a new template, courtesy of Chris Rault at JoomlaJunkie . Thanks Chris!
Fireboard is gone, and here comes SMF instead. I have chosen, for simplicity and time constraints, to use and independant installation of SMF rather than a bridge. All accounts must have been transferred, avatars included. Hopefully that will work out fine. Please use the contact form in case of problems. It means all old urls are gone, and and new urls are not SEF. Another consequence is that I have removed the Community builder demonstration page, as I don' want to have people register to the site itself (members of the site and of the forum would not keep in sync).
English is now the site default language. This is more in line with the visitors I have.

As you probably noticed as well, I have moved from extensions.siliana.net to extensions.siliana.com. This made things easier for the move. Hopefully, all the needed redirections are there !

On the sh404SEF front side, there'll be a small update soon, with a few bug fixes, nothing major.

I've linked to a variety of posts on your old forum for my own future reference.

None of these links work, I can't find the posts I linked to!

Hi,

I don't know how to solve that. There are more than 8000 posts. I can't do redirects for them, and Fireboard 1.0 could just not handle this on my current host. Maybe FB 1.0.4 is better, but the memory consumption (and DB) as well was just too much with the traffic I was getting.
So I took the opportunity of the move to another server to change to a more robust forum software. I hope globally this will be a benefit.
While I am at it, there was a couple of glitches in the FB to SMF converter, just released, and they were fixed with the people on the SMF forum. So the converter should run pretty smoothly now.

Great menu system! Love it, but when i load the page my submenu is briefly visible and it then dissapears until its activated by a mousehover. Other then that it works great. Does anybody know how I could get this glitch to behave?

Hi,
i have sh404sef 1.32 virtuemart 1.0.12 Instalation .htaccess Siliana standard configuration.

I have products with element by colour. Selection of item to search son product page is impossible (404 error).
Search module : 404 error by searching keywords
Identification module : Impossible for user to disconnect by clicking button (works fine by disconnect from Virtuemart Categories Module)

Thanks to answer me about these 3 points, some special configuration or else.

Sorry to bring the bad news, but your download link on the forums to the newest test version http://download.siliana.net/category.php?id=2 ends up with the following error message:
This Account Has Been Suspended
Please contact the support department as soon as possible, and please have your site name ready.

pitty, I really would have liked to try the native version.
I'll check on it again in a few days. hope you got it fixed till then

Carina - Alphanumerical code

Dear friends,

I installed sh404sef in Joomla 1.5 (with htaccess standar configuration). And I have the following problem.

Some times (particularly when I check with Internet Explorer) the end of links of the main page of my website changing to a alphanumerical code, like:

http://www.mysite.com/anchortext.html

http://mysite.com/anchortext.html? b21ea2a170d33f89caaabe60edabbb0e=dfe613233c2517162 57abb2050d0eab6

Also I had this problem with DocMan, but I think was solved.

Any help?

Je viens d'installer sh404SEF sur joomla 1.5.4 et tout fonctionne à merveille SAUF l'insertion du "index.php" dans l'URL. Par exemple j'obtiens un URL comme : http://www.mondomaine.tld/index.php/Presentation/nos-adresses.html

Est-ce qu'il n'ya pas moyen d'enlever ce "index.php"?
