Support site unavailable returns

Hi all,

This site has been unavailable for the last few hours, again! My hoster, Bluehost, has suspended my account, as they have detected, again, "phishing" sites activity from my webspace. This time I had access to the FTP logs, and I realized hackers had full FTP access, meaning they knew my password (which obviously is not available on the site)!

It pleased me, sort of, as it means Joomla and Mediawiki are not involved in the security breach. Bluehost suggested that my password could have been "sniffed" from the outside. Kinda difficult to swallow, as I had changed it after the first episode. Anyway, I'll be using Secure FTP from now on, so I should be pretty safe.

Hopefullly, I am through with this. Coupled with my changing of programming environnment, sh404SEF has not evolved during the last week, while there is still much to do!

Cheers!

Iain Laverock - Only home page showing in Goog 25-09-2007 08:53
Hi
I have been running sh404SEF on my site for the last week or so. I have just done some page rank checking on google and I have realised that none of my website pages (except my home page) are showing up in the results. I realised that I had turned off my joomla metatags in error, but is there any other setting that I should look at as well.
Many thanks
Iain Laverock
Charles - PC Habitat - Troubles re-installing sh404SE 30-09-2007 15:31
Hello.

I installed sh404SEF but re-installed. But when I re-install, my pages become 404.

I uninstalled again, deleted required folders and re-installed. Still I get 404 error pages.

What can I do? Or am I missing something?

Glenn - Need Help Please 03-10-2007 01:22
I am not new to Web Developement but I am recently new to Apache and Joomla!!! I'm trying to get the SEF Url's working on GoDaddy servers with your product and I have spent the past 4 days without success!!!

I wanted to know if I could pay or make a "nice donation" for someone to setup the SEO for me? Or maybe someone you could refer to.

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Dean Beedell - 404 errors 18-10-2007 13:54
Have just installed this component on two of my sites, on one, it works exactly as expected, on the other just 404 error. Both installed exactly the same. Have tried multiple installations and configs but still the same. I'd love to use this on all my sites but at the moment the install is either too confusing or it just does not work on some installations, Why not? I don't know.
Howard - itemid is messing with menus? 13-05-2008 20:21
I suspect this is an itemid problem but cannot find a work around.

I followed the FAQ suggestion and set the two configuration options to no.

Trigger for problem
If I have a menu item pointing to a section and a submenu item pointing to a category in that section and there are items in the category

Problem when the user goes to the category or an item within the category, the menu item which is highlighted to show the user where they are at is the one pointing to the section not the one pointing to the category.

eg. http://www.nwip.com/Real-Estate/Preparing-for-Sale/

The menu item which should be highlighted is "Preparing for Sale" instead of "Sell Your Home"

I have banged my head against this a long time. Any help would be apprciated.

Thanks

Thanks for this fantastic component but I have a small problem.

The 404 page shows inside my template which is fantastic but I'm getting a Runtime Error: permission denied which also crashes the browser!

I'm at a loss as to how to solve this.

other than that the component does everything it should. Thanks again

Kurt - Error when uninstalling sh404S 14-10-2008 16:50
I'm using Joomla 1.5.6.

Before I install the latest version of sh404SEF (15_1.0.11), I want to uninstall an older version (1.0.2_Beta, February 2008).

In the Components menu, when I try to uninstall sh404sef (1.0.2_Beta, February 2008) I get this error:

Fatal error: Class 'mosDBTable' not found in /home//public_html/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/sh404sef.class.php on line 81

On the other hand, I was able to uninstall the sh404sef plugin.

Any ideas?

Where can I find out if this is compatible with windows servers now and, if so, how to configure the server.
